How Likely Is a Greece Default? Likely, Indeed [View article]
Sadly, the EU will have to keep finding ways to finance their straying member states. No wonder the UK now wants to join the EU and Euro.
U.S. Insolvency Is 'Greek to Me' [View article]
If you are talking near term maturities lots of buyers are there moving their long term exposure to short term exposure. Then dump in countries that have a past history of shaky currency and those who worry about their own debt load and an inability to buy oil denominated in US$ (just about every nation runs a deficit and uses more energy than they generate) and you see a lot of demand as long as the US$ remains the reserve currency of choice (no other currency has enough debt to float global trade).
It is interesting as to how a bad thing (too much debt) actually facilitated the US dollar to become the global currency of choice. There is , however, such thing as too much of a good thing which traderrob is right to say that we will cross that path sooner rather than later.
